Exploring Ethereum diversity: a three part series

We are happy to share the first two posts of a series regarding Ethereum clients diversity.

Through this research work, led by Sébastien Rannou, Principal Engineer at Kiln, we describe under-discussed network-scale issues that can arise with majority clients.

The series will also detail various scenarios and consequences for validators, and highlight our diversity strategy at Kiln. The first two parts are already available!

Protocols

Extending Kiln's protocols support

Ton, Stacks, and Fetch join our ever-growing list of supported protocols, now at over 40+.

This expanded offering allows users to stake their assets on a wider range of blockchain networks and earn rewards for participating in network security.

If you hold TON, STX or FET and wish to stake or offer staking on those protocols, reach out and we’ll help you through your staking journey.

Unveiling EigenLayer restaking costs

EigenLayer native restaking comes with significant additional operational costs in the form of gas fees required to upload proofs of your validator’s consensus-layer activity.

We’ve found that, on average, 30% of ETH staking rewards are consumed by gas fees.

Good news: the EigenLayer team is working on an upgrade to this part of the system to significantly reduce these costs!

Dive into this topic with our article written in collaboration with CoinShares.
